January 20 Update
Eye of the Storm Permanent Home Project
Report from Friends of Red Acre
January 19, 2003
If you are a Stow, Massachusetts voter, please see below
Update on efforts to secure the Kunelius Farm for Eye of the Storm
At the January 13th Town Meeting, voters overwhelmingly voted to
support the expenditure of $305,000 for the purpose of purchasing
the Kunelius farm on Red Acre Road. Two thirds of the approximately
500 people present had to vote yes, and their positive response
was heartwarming to see. The registered voters of Stow must next
go to the polls and approve the town contributing $305,000 towards
this $1.3 million project.
Organizations besides Eye of the Storm that currently support this
project are:The Trust for Public Land, Stow Conservation Trust,
Red Acre Foundation, Sudbury Valley Trustees, and Organization for
the Assabet River.
Eye of the Storm recognizes this as the best opportunity for them
to
establish a permanent farm. Ownership would include over 4.5 acres
with barn, indoor ring, turn out space, and caretakers house.
