Very rarely we get a rescued pony.
We were so lucky to have Harry, a 38 year old 11.3h pony.
Yup, thats right
He was 38 when he arrived at
Eye of the Storm.
When Harry first came to us he was
somewhat underweight and seemed depressed. He
had no back teeth, so we prepared a special diet of semi liquid
senior foods and supplements for him. Harry showed great improvement
with his special care. His hooves were trimmed and he pseudo-grazed
happily around the farm as he could pull the grass, but couldnt
chew it.
Harry showed us what he could do
with his patience and understanding of children. Harry enjoyed
our tender loving care and a restful home with us until he
died in 2002.
We invite anyone who learned to ride
on Harry in his 38 years of life too drop us a line about
him. His kind and patient nature made him a perfect member
of our team.
Harry spent the rest of his days with us doing what he did
best...teaching people how good horses are. We honored him
for his duties performed for the human race and pampered and
spoiled him in his special little stall with a warm dry bed
for him to rest on.
