Died 2002, Stow, MA at 17 years of age.
Lilac
was found in a lumber yard, where they were giving away kittens
with the two-by-fours.
Nina took Lilac and another kitten home with her. This was back
in 1985. Lilac soon took the first of many "husbands."
She always had a feline best friend, and it was always a male. The
first was Angus, who used to lie near her as much as possible. Once,
when Nina had to move, she couldn't find Angus anywhere. He had
disappeared. She was forced to move without him. A week later, in
the new home, she heard a cat crying in the woods. It was Angus,
who had made the journey to find his "wife," Lilac.
Lilac spent her long life as a barn cat. She loved to lounge in
the hay and loved getting attention from people. With her long silky
fur and harlequin facial markings she got a lot of attention.
For the last four years of her life she lived with her last "husband,"
Mr. Big. She developed a thyroid condition and slowly faded away,
still enjoying food and people until she was put to sleep in May
2002.
