Horse Tales Our December 2002 Newsletter
Oh, the weather outside was frightfully cold for December, but
inside our hearts it's been warm and cozy thanks to the help and
contributions of many people who have helped out Eye of the Storm.
If you are thinking about making any last minute charitable contributions,
please keep us in mind during this holiday season. No donation is
too small.
Farewell, Vinnie
We lost Vincent. Our 28 year old resident passed away on December
6th, 2002. He was a great horse and a friend to every volunteer
and especially to his owner, Christa. Please take a moment to read
Vincent's memorial on our web site. We miss ya' Vinny! Read
about Vincent's wonderful life.
A Permanent Home for Eye of the Storm?
Local Stow residents have started a grass roots campaign to obtain
a farm and secure 50 acres of wetlands, protecting them from a proposed
30-condo development. Of the 50 acres, 42 acres would be donated
to the town of Stow, protecting a valuable aquifer. Mark the evening
of January 13th on your calendar for a Stow Town meeting to decide
the fate of this farm - rescue horses or condos. Read
our page with more information, links to the Boston Globe and Beacon
articles, and contacts.
Join Us for an Evening of Blues
Local musician Harry Chalmiers and company will gather at the Old
Stow Town Hall for a performance to benefit Eye of the Storm. We
don't have an exact date yet, but it will probably be in February.
Their CD, Sketches, will be available for sale at the performance
and by mail order through our web site. Proceeds to benefit the
ongoing efforts of Eye of the Storm. Stay tuned for more information!

Got Space?
A call to farms! Occasionally we run into an emergency situation
where we cannot house all of the horses that we need to take care
of at our present location. If you have a farm with an open stall
in the Stow, Massachusetts area and are willing to take on a rescue
horse for a limited period of time please give us a call at (978)
897-8866.
Wishing you and your loved ones the most Happy Holiday Season.
Yours truly,
The Pony Man and Nina
