Snowdrop -- an Arabian mare
H o r s e  T a l e s - April  2 0 0 4

Greetings

I got a call from the Parelli Horse-Man-Ship organization the other day. This premiere training organization found us on the web. They want to help us raise money for the horses. They're running a training seminar at the Big E fair May 8-9 and are giving us 100 tickets to sell - and we get to keep half of the money for all the tickets we sell!

So please, if you're going to the Big E May 8-9, buy your tickets from us and help support the care and upkeep of the rescue horses. Enjoy watching these great trainers for such a great price and help our horses at the same time.
See below for details on the seminar.

I also want to tell you about a couple of wonderful horses that need homes. These are not residents of Eye of the Storm. I often get calls from people trying to find homes for horses they can no longer care for, so I thought I'd use this newsletter as a way to help find them a home.
See below for details on the horses.

Thank you!
Nina Arbella, Chief Manure Mucker, Eye of the Storm

These Horses Need Homes

We will occasionally offer horses for adoption from their owners, not through Eye of the Storm. These horses must be treated with the same care as those that come directly from us.

If you're interested in one of these horses, you must be able to guarantee a home for life. You must already be knowledgeable about horses and allow us to check references. We prefer to place horses that will be kept in private homes, rather than boarding stables, because we want to ensure the horses are placed with people who can keep them for the rest of their lives.

Morgan Gelding
Bold Hawk is a gentle, Morgan Bay gelding who is looking for a retirement home with a pasture. He is 28 years old, 15.2 hands, and has had good care throughout his entire life. Stabled in Weston, Mass for the past 19 years, he has provided countless hours of trail riding for his loving owner and friends. He is an excellent companion horse. His owner is moving to a residential neighborhood and wishes to find a home for this loyal companion. $500. Call Mary, (781) 899-2624.

Quarter Horse Gelding
This perfect, 22-year-old sorrel Quarter Horse has no vices. He's submissive and gets along well with other horses. He is 15 hands and has been a Western trail horse. He may have arthritis in one knee, but is sound enough for gentle trail rides. $500. Call Denise (781) 335-4078.

I'm always happy to talk to people who call Eye of the Storm for advice about horse care. But it's become a bit of a problem if people leave messages and I have to call back long-distance. We really have to focus our limited funds on horse supplies, not phone calls.

I still want to talk to you, but please, call back if you don't reach me. Or, if you're willing to make a donation, I can call you back long-distance. Thanks for understanding!
